The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its Procurement Unit of the Financial Services, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Trainee - Procurement
Duration: 5 months & Starting date: October 2024
Specific Post Environment:
The Expenses Accounting and Monitoring Division is part of Chief Finance Office. The main objective of the division is to be responsible for the full Procur-to-Pay cycle where we are accountable for preparing the budget, challenging and assisting in the procurement requests, monitoring the budget consumption, controlling the expenditures and ensuring accurate and complete recording of all EIF operating and employee expenses.
Overall objective:
Your overall objective will be to:
actively participate to the development and implementation of a cost benefit analysis to support the Financial Analysis in order to enhance the control function within the division.
contribute to the resolution and closure of audit action points within the procurement unit thereby coordinating with various departments, tracking progress, and reporting on the status of audit points.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the senior of the team, you shall:
Understand the procurement activity of a public institutions.
Review and understand audit report to identify action items.
Assist in gathering and analysing data to support cost control initiatives
Expected outcome:
Assist, Follow up and close of specific AAPs.
Support Cost Control Budget Unit with Financial analysis, variance analysis and annual COP Exercise-related activities.
Develop a new cost benefit analysis template with focus on procurement request and in order to improve cost control function.
Qualifications:
University degree (or on-going studies) in Business Administration, Finance, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, lawor similar discipline
Relevant coursework in auditing, compliance and data analysis would be an advantage.
Knowledge of audit principles and practices.
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other Microsoft application tools (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Good command of another EU language would be an advantage.
