We are looking for a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to help operate and support our hybrid IT environment, including Microsoft 365/Azure services, Windows Server, Linux servers, and a small network. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, proactive, and able to communicate effectively in both French and English.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the daily administration of Windows Server and Linux systems (installation, configuration, updates, monitoring, troubleshooting).
- Support and maintain our Microsoft ecosystem (Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, basic identity, and access management tasks).
- Participate in the operation of our hybrid infrastructure (on‑premise servers, virtual machines, and cloud resources).
- Help manage basic network services and equipment (switches, Wi‑Fi, VPN, IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
- Monitor system and network performance, react to alerts, and contribute to incident resolution.
- Apply security best practices (patching, antivirus/EDR checks, user access control, backups and restore tests).
- Provide level 1-2 support to users (accounts, workstations, access, basic application issues).
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, and keep technical documentation up to date.
- Collaborate with administrators on infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required skills and experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a system administration, IT support, or similar technical role (internships and work‑study included).
- Solid basic knowledge of Windows Server administration (roles/features, file shares, permissions, basic AD concepts).
- Practical exposure to Linux systems administration (user management, services, package management, log review).
- Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, switching, routing basics, firewall concepts, VPN).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and/or Azure services is a strong plus.
- Ability to read and write clear technical documentation.
Languages
- French: fluent, able to support users and participate in meetings.
- English: good working level (spoken and written) for documentation, tools, and occasional meetings.
