The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit a Trainee for its European Tech Champion Initiative Unit at its headquarters in Luxembourg

Duration: 5 months & Starting date: April 2026

Specific Post Environment

The main objective of the team is the ongoing management of the European Technology Champions Initiative (“ETCI”) and the preparation of the successor initiative ETCI 2.0.

Overall objective

Your overall objective will be to:

  • Support the launch of an EU-wide initiative in the venture capital market, aimed at fostering innovation and growth across Member States.
  • Enhance stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring alignment between internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the senior of the team, you shall:

  • Assist in preparing presentations and communication materials for external stakeholders, including investors and policymakers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather data, insights, and updates relevant to the initiative.
  • Support project management activities, including timelines, deliverables, and reporting.

Expected outcome

  • Delivery of high-quality presentations and documentation that effectively communicate the initiative’s objectives and benefits.
  • Improved coordination and efficiency within the team, contributing to timely and successful launch of the initiative.
  • Enhanced visibility and stakeholder engagement, leading to stronger partnerships and market impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master in Business Administration, Finance, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, law or similar discipline. Candidate may be enrolled in the final yar of a master’s degree.
  • Relevant coursework/experience in Finance, Private equity and data analysis would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other Microsoft application tools (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Good command of another EU language would be an advantage.

  • Excellent team-working abilities.
