Intern, IRIS2 Procurement

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is an exciting 12-week opportunity for a dynamic, customer-oriented individual to become part of the SES IRIS2 Procurement Team. The IRIS2 Procurement Team Intern supports the SES IRIS2 procurement function in ensuring efficient sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to strategic and operational procurement activities within an international environment. The intern will work closely with procurement professionals to contribute to cost optimization, supplier performance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

In this context, your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

Assist in sourcing activities, including supplier identification, RFQs (Request for Quotation), and bid analysis

Support purchase order creation, tracking, and follow-up with suppliers

Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement documentation

Contribute to spend analysis and reporting to identify cost-saving opportunities

Participate in supplier contract management activities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, legal, operations) to support procurement processes

Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and internal communications

Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes and tools


YOUR PROFILE

You must have :

Be a current student in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Very strong computer literacy including the Office 365 suite (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)

Fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are an asset

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines

An open mindset to problem solving, ready to tackle challenges with a positive attitude

Proactive mindset and willingness to learn

Advanced verbal and written communication skills

Great organizational skills and a strong commitment to delivering detailed high-quality work

Be an EU-27 citizen


It would be nice if you had :

Initial knowledge or coursework in procurement or supply chain management

Experience with data analysis or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP, or similar systems)

Previous internship or project experience in a corporate or international environment
