The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its EIB Unit of the Products & EIB/EC Mandate Design Division,at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Trainee.

Specific Post Environment:
The Products & EIB/EC Mandate Design Division is part of Chief Investment Office. The main objective of the division is to be responsible for managing EC/EIB mandate origination, mandate portfolio, and relationships.
Overall objective:
Your overall objective will be to:
- Support the Energy Efficiency in SMEs initiative (EE in SMEs): through the preparation of material to define and implement the initiative
- Support Infrastructure & Climate Fund Investments mandate: through the preparation of meetings materials and reports.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the senior of the team, you shall:
- gather and analyse data on projects related to both debt and equity products (i.e. data linked to fundraising activity and external communication);
- prepare pitches, presentation material, and documents for the Steering Board and Investors meetings;
- support the cooperation with different EIF teams handling EIB mandates.
Expected outcome:
- The trainee will gain practical experience in areas such as Private Equity and Venture Capital, the Scale-Up market, Climate Infrastructure Investments, ESG principles and procedures, and general topics related to European private markets.
- The topic is of high interest both for investment funds (including EIF’s equity and infra funds activities) and academia, potentially opening multiple future opportunities for the Trainee.
- The EIF will benefit from relevant data analysis for both debt and equity products, and well drafted presentation material for internal and external meetings.
Qualifications:
- University degree or Business School in Economics, Environmental Law, Finance, Engineering, Business administration, or related subjects;
- Strong interest in and some understanding on topics related to the EU Private Equity, Venture Capital and Climate Infrastructure funds.
- Understanding of the mission and main products of the European Investment Fund;
- Understanding of private equity, venture capital, infrastructure equity and/or SME financing would be a distinguishable advantage;
- Understanding basic concepts of EU sustainable finance legislative developments would be an advantage;
- Aptitude towards data management and reporting tools would be an advantage.
Competencies:
- Understanding of the mission and main products of the European Investment Fund;
- Understanding of private equity, venture capital, infrastructure equity and/or SME financing would be a distinguishable advantage;
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude towards data management and reporting;
- Good drafting and synthesis skills;
- Good interpersonal skills and team spirit;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Proactivity, capability to work autonomously under given objectives and organise own work effectively;
- Attention to detail.
