Master’s Internship Position in Public Health, Epidemiology

Luxembourg Institute of Health

About the job

The Ageing, Cancer and Disparities (ACADI) research unit, led by Dr Sophie Pilleron within the Department of Precision Health at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), is seeking a candidate for a six-month internship starting from January 2026. Applicants must be enrolled in a Master's program at the time of the internship, which must form an integral part of their degree requirements.

Background

About forty-six percent of people affected by colorectal cancer are aged 70 years, yet they remain under-represented in randomized controlled trials. This leads to limited evidence to guide treatment decisions in this heterogeneous population. To strengthen the evidence base on treatment strategies for older patients with colorectal cancer, it is important to identify medical doctors’ information needs regarding the effectiveness of these strategies for their older patients. We will therefore conduct an online survey among medical doctors involved in the treatment of colorectal cancer to identify their information needs related to the effectiveness of colorectal cancer treatment strategies for adults aged 70 years.
The master’s student will participate in data collection and analysis.
