The opportunity

As a Payroll Intern, you will be part of the Finance Reward team, which handles all compensation and benefits matters for the company. This internship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in payroll processes and benefits administration.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist in the operational delivery of the end-to-end payroll processes in collaboration with our payroll provider.
  • Support the review and implementation of the benefits program (car leasing, insurance, pension plans, health insurance, etc.).
  • Help prepare monthly and yearly reports related to compensation and benefits matters.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with social security and local laws and regulations.
  • Support internal policies and processes.
  • Participate in the management of relevant systems and tools (i.e., assisting in the setup of new systems & processes, testing, and implementation phases).
  • Act as a point of contact for payroll and benefits-related questions and assist in providing internal training on these topics to employees.
  • Liaise and maintain relationships with external providers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Be part of the onboarding program: assist in training new joiners about administrative, compensation, and benefits matters.
  • Participate in various projects and initiatives.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong client focus orientation.
  • Familiarity with management platforms such as SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft, or Workday is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll, compensation, and benefits processes and procedures.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You have some relevant coursework or experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships with colleagues across the firm.
  • Good management of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English and French is required; an additional language will be an asset.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Interest in payroll digitalization and process improvement practices.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
